Creating An Immersive Art Experience
Since 2016, PHORIA has been digitally preserving the work of renowned Melbourne street artist RONE, starting with his debut solo show, Empty. This ongoing collaboration, which includes projects like Antecedent—an AR activation that heightened the intrigue of RONE's sold-out Empire exhibition—has now culminated in a groundbreaking mixed reality experience. Through advanced digital scans and virtual recreations of RONE’s ephemeral art spaces, PHORIA allows audiences to explore his exhibitions in an entirely new way, blending the physical and digital worlds long after the installations have concluded.

Time After Time
PHORIA has reimagined RONE’s award-winning Time exhibition, held at Flinders Street Station between October 2022 and April 2023, in a mixed reality artwork title Time After Time. By interacting with physical objects from the exhibition, audiences trigger holographic displays that blend the physical and digital worlds, allowing them to experience art in a whole new way.
A Unique Exploration of RONE's Vision
In Time After Time audiences are immersed in a dynamic classroom environment filled with interactive 3D objects that inspire exploration and engagement. The Mixed Reality Passthrough technology of the Meta Quest 3 headset enables viewers to navigate the space from different angles, encouraging movement to discover and collect objects.Interactions trigger spatial location-based audio, enriching the experience with soundscapes that perfectly complement the visual elements. This seamless integration fosters a stronger connection to RONE's work, creating a truly captivating environment.
The Making of 'Time After Time'
During the creation of 'Time After Time', PHORIA developed a cutting-edge Mixed Reality (MR) system that allows users to explore immersive 3D environments with movement and interaction. Combining advanced scanning and 3D modelling with intuitive hand and body tracking, the experience enables viewers to explore details and engage with RONE’s vision from a unique perspective, creating a deeper connection to the artist’s work.This versatile system supports various applications, from art exhibitions to interactive installations, making immersive experiences, and art, accessible to everyone.
